Lots of comments all over the web. What do you think?

Since I had just recently re-read all 7 books, they were pretty fresh in my mind (though it seems to be going quickly).

I thought the movie was very well done, with a few comments warranted. The entire movie could have been an hour longer. The relationship between the kids and Aslan could have been made a bit deeper to be more effective. It would have made the death scene more intense (although that might have been detrimental to younger viewers who weren't familiar with the book). Therefore, there was a lack of awe about his resurrection. Aslan didn't seem quite "impressive" enough to me.

Special effects were great & they managed to make talking animals pretty believable without being "cute". We're used to talking animals (since there's Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Bugs, Daffy, Dumbo, Bambi, Jiminy Cricket, Donkey, Puss n' Boots, Lion King, et.al., etc., etc., ad infinitum), but his was way different from "Mr. Ed". Even an old coot like me had to smile and admit to quite a few moments spent in "suspension of disbelief". All the mythical creatures from centaurs & griffins to Mr. Tumnus were excellent.

Though there are many threads in forums around the net regarding the religious aspect of Lewis' writings, he wasn't overtly overwhelming in any of the books. I found the (what I felt were) subtle religious undertones, but thats somwhat the case in most fantasy - in one form or another. What about "The Force" in Star Wars (SciFi is just fantasy in another time/place)?

I thought the movie was great, Tilda Swinton did such an excellent job as the White Witch. Very Happy

I didn't see any religious ties in the books either, to me it just seemed like normal fantasy. I know the author was heavily into Christianity and wrote the series for a religious theme, but unless someone told me about it, I would never see it.
